The private collection
Members-only access to exceptional, individually curated pieces, displayed in a gallery rather than an ordinary product catalogue.
A private society for collectors of extraordinary equestrian fashion. Rare pieces, preserved, studied and presented as wearable works of art.
A beautifully cut riding coat can be as remarkable as a sculpture: its lines, craftsmanship, provenance and the life it has lived all matter. The Private Vault will bring together exceptional equestrian fashion for those who collect and cherish it. Every accepted garment will be considered as an individual work, photographed and catalogued with care.
Members-only access to exceptional, individually curated pieces, displayed in a gallery rather than an ordinary product catalogue.
A 48-hour advance preview of pieces newly admitted into The Private Vault, before they become available for acquisition by the wider membership. These are newly catalogued pieces, not fashion-house seasonal releases.
Up to two accepted pieces per membership year receive in-house photographic styling, bespoke editorial listings and curatorial presentation.
We intend to receive and safeguard accepted garments during their agreed consignment period, rather than asking members to store or dispatch them themselves.
For each accepted piece, an indicative resale-price assessment reflecting condition, rarity, comparable sales and provenance. Formal expert valuations would be arranged separately.
Every accepted piece receives its own permanent Vault ID and evolving collection record: designer, era, craftsmanship, provenance evidence, condition, custody history and owner-authorised sale status. Unverified details are clearly identified.
Rare designer archives, bespoke riding coats, exceptional vintage tailoring and limited editions: pieces selected for their significance, not merely their label. The presentation of each accepted piece will honour its cut, textile, history and individuality, as a private gallery would honour the art it holds. We expect many acquisitions to be high-value, but never use price alone as a measure of merit.
Every proposed consignment will be reviewed for workmanship, rarity, desirability, provenance and condition. On acceptance, The Vault will plan its photography, catalogue record, indicative resale guidance and custody arrangements. Each accepted item will have a permanent Vault ID and record that distinguishes documented evidence from a seller’s account. Only an authorised owner may request a sale listing, and any change of status will require The Vault’s review; membership does not guarantee acceptance, a sale, a certified valuation or authentication. Used safety helmets, body protectors and counterfeit goods will not be accepted.
Private collection · only approved, paying members after launchInspired by the traceability principles of VERAEN, every accepted piece would be given a unique, permanent Vault ID. Its collection record would remain with the garment as it moves between owners, preserving its documented story rather than starting from scratch each time it is sold.
A unique record of the garment, designer, materials, era, photographs, distinguishing details, condition assessments and evidence of provenance. Claims are marked as documented, owner-reported or under review.
The owner chooses whether an accepted piece is held as Collection Only or proposed as Available for Sale. No listing becomes active without the owner’s specific authorisation and The Vault’s acceptance.
The record tracks admission, photographic documentation, custody, changes to sale authority and confirmed ownership transfers. Collectors see relevant provenance without exposing private owner details.
Have an exceptional equestrian garment you would prefer to sell outright? Our proposed Vault Acquisitions service will consider carefully selected pieces for direct purchase. A rare garment may enter The Vault as part of its own collection, to be preserved, researched and, where appropriate, offered for future acquisition.
Offer us an exceptional piece for consideration, whether or not you are a Private Vault Society member. If it is selected, we will review its condition, ownership evidence, provenance and authenticity, then make an offer subject to inspection. Once the sale is agreed and completed, Equestrian Vault becomes the owner of the piece.
No society membership required to propose a direct sale.
As a society member, offer a piece for our curated consignment service. If accepted, we will plan its photography, bespoke presentation and Vault ID record, with agreed physical custody where available. You remain its owner until an authorised sale and valid transfer are completed.
Two accepted in-house consignments per membership year are included in the proposed founding offer.
Provide photographs, designer or maker details, condition and any available provenance or evidence of ownership.
We assess suitability, comparable sales and documentation. Any purchase offer is conditional on inspection and verification.
If both sides agree and payment and transfer are completed, the piece enters our own collection with an individual Vault ID and continuing history.
Membership by application and review. Our proposed founding membership is £295 per year for the first 50 approved members; subsequent standard society memberships would be £395 per year. The annual fee includes collectors’ access and eligibility for up to two accepted, in-house curated consignments each year. A separate sale commission applies only when a consigned piece sells. No membership payment will be taken until applications and the fully operational society open.
Proposed success-based consignment commission: 25% for a piece sold for £750–£2,499; 20% for £2,500–£9,999; and 15% for £10,000 or more. A minimum fee and any separately payable costs will be specified in the final consignment agreement. Physical custody is proposed for an initial agreed period of up to 90 days per accepted consignment. These commissions are separate from membership and do not apply to ordinary self-listed marketplace sales.
Prospective collectors and sellers will be able to tell us about their interests and pieces when applications open.
Applications will be assessed for alignment with the society’s collecting and conduct standards, without wealth-based criteria.
Accepted applicants will be offered clear annual terms and secure payment before gaining authenticated collection access.
